About this forum

Compact SUV Forum opened on the 4th of August 2025, because the compact crossover is the most common new vehicle in the country and the conversation about it is spread across forty brand forums where nobody can compare anything. A RAV4 owner and a CX-5 owner have the same questions about winter tires, roof boxes, mismatched tires on an all wheel drive car and what a used one is worth. They just never end up in the same room.

So this is one room. RAV4 and CR-V including the hybrids, CX-5 and CX-50, Forester and Outback, Rogue, Escape and Bronco Sport, Equinox, Tucson, Sportage, Compass. Brand arguments are welcome. Brand sneering gets a note from a mod.

It is run by Priya S., who posts as mod_priya_s. She wrote service estimates at an import dealership in Columbus, Ohio for fourteen years and now runs the service desk at an independent shop on the north side of town, which means she has read several thousand of these conversations from the other side of the counter. She drives a 2019 CX-5 Touring with 96,000 miles on it and reads the contact mailbox herself.

What it costs and who pays for it

The domain and the small server it sits on run about ninety dollars a year, and Priya pays that out of pocket. No advertising, no affiliate links, no paid placements, no deals with dealers or brokers. If that ever changes it will be written on this page in plain words before it happens, not after.

House rules

  • Year, model, trim, and whether the car is all wheel drive or front drive. The trim name does not settle the drivetrain question on most of these cars, so say it out loud. Add the mileage and roughly where the car lives if you are asking about a noise or about rust.
  • If you post a purchase, post the number. Buying reports without prices get a reply from a mod asking for them.
  • Nobody plugs their own business. If you work at a dealer, a shop, a tire store, a broker or a transport company, say so in the posts where it matters. It makes your answers more useful, not less.
  • No selling cars in threads. There is no classifieds board here on purpose. Linking a public listing to make a point about pricing is fine.
  • Do not arrange auction bids with other members. Comparing numbers after a lot closes is the whole point of the buying board. Agreeing who bids what before it closes is bid rigging and gets both accounts removed.
  • Threads get moved when they are in the wrong board, and a note is left saying where they went. Locking is rare and comes with a reason.
  • Accounts are by email request until the spam calms down.

What this is not

Not a dealer, not a broker, not a shop, and not the factory service manual. When somebody here gives you a torque figure, a fluid interval or a tire pressure, check it against the book for your own car and model year before you trust your brakes to it. Half the arguments on this forum turn out to be two people who are both right about different model years.
